Through the workshops with Jesse, we aim to explore the possibilities of presenting data in multiple dimensions. By utilizing data from IKEA, we can demonstrate the consumption of trees divided by continent and tree types. During this exploration, I discovered a fascinating yet striking comparison between Africa and Europe. Despite Africa being significantly larger in size, its tree consumption is not even half of that in Europe.
As a result, I have initiated some sketches involving 3D modeling, as I plan to 3D print trees. My goal is to visually present the differences between regions through texture and size. By utilizing these tangible representations, we can effectively showcase the contrasting tree consumption patterns and highlight the impact on each continent.
Together with Jesse and through this immersive workshop experience, we aim to push the boundaries of data visualization and create a thought-provoking display that sparks conversations and increases awareness about sustainable practices and conservation efforts.
